The village of Trafoi
"The End Of The World" - that's exactly the
opinion people still had at the beginning of the
century of the village of Trafoi.
Around the middle of the 20th century the big
change occurred: thanks to the growing interest in
the "Alpinismus" the little, unknown village became
an in-demand holiday resort. The extraordinary
landscape which is naturally beautiful, features
high mountains and imposing glaciers, and still
fascinates today.
The village features an indoor swimming pool, a
tennis court and an activity walk as well as bars
and restaurants.
A very famous attraction which this small village
has to offer is a little chapel - the Chapel of
the Holy Three Fountains. This pilgrimage is
located at the foot of the Ortler mountain range
and is a favoured wedding chapel. Some pilgrims
believe that the water out of these three fountains
is holy and has the power to heal.
